How
deep and far do we have to look
for magic in our modern world? Where
does the Shaman dwell in our world of Satellite TV and Cell
Phones?
Have we lost our sense of wonder and traded
it for the Internet, bar codes and databases?
Did we leave our sense of responsibility for our fellow man and
our
integrity under a rock somewhere while trading our Mantras and Prayers
for the
toggling of Zeros and Ones in the digital age?? I
hope not!! For these
things are the very fluid enveloping the Human Soul, the life’s blood
of the
human spirit, the wellspring of all our dreams and aspirations.
Technology
and modern science have
given us so much to make our lives easier.
Our children no longer need to remain ignorant in their
interests when
the accumulated knowledge of mankind is a few keystrokes away via the
‘Net. New and improved manufacturing
and distribution networks make the tools of humankind cheaper and
easier to
obtain daily. Communication has turned
all of humankind into one global village in so many respects. There is a fear that we have traded our most
basic human needs for this wonder of modern life, that we’ve freely
bartered
away all of the magic, wonder and integrity for a “new” Tower of Babel.
Occam’s
Razor states that the
simplest explanation of a puzzle is most likely the best one. The magic we seek is within us all, in
the
smile of a child or stranger, in the kind remark and in the music we
share. Music is the most direct form of
communication mankind has ever known.
My intent with this CD is to try and connect with
the Shaman within us all and to share some of my feelings with you, the
listener…I’m “Sculpting the Shaman With Occam’s Razor”.
